Pier does not collect, sell, or share your personal data. Your connection details stay within Apple’s services and on your devices.
Data we collect
Pier does not collect personal information, usage analytics, diagnostics, advertising identifiers, or tracking data. There is no Pier account and no Pier-operated server receiving your app activity.
Data stored on your devices
To provide its features, Pier stores SSH credentials and known-host information in Apple Keychain on your device. Pier also stores the hosts and keys you choose to save. This data is used only to make connections you initiate.
iCloud
Pier uses your device’s signed-in iCloud account to keep saved app data available across your Apple devices. Apple processes that data under its own terms and privacy policy. Pier’s developer does not receive or have access to your iCloud credentials.
SSH and SFTP connections
When you connect to a server, Pier communicates directly with the hostname or IP address you provide. Information sent to that server is governed by the server operator’s privacy and security practices. Pier does not proxy your connections.
Third parties and tracking
Pier contains no advertising SDKs and does not use cross-app tracking. We do not sell or share data with data brokers or advertisers.
Data retention and deletion
Because Pier does not collect data on its own servers, it has no server-side user profile to retain. You can remove saved hosts and keys inside the app. You can also delete the app and manage its iCloud data through your Apple device settings.
Children’s privacy
Pier is a general-purpose developer tool and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Pier changes. The effective date at the top of this page will identify the latest version. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
